Woodhouse Grove School is a co-educational independent school based on the outskirts of Leeds. As part of their on-going ambitious plans for development of their community facilities, they wanted to replace their 60 year old pool, with a new 25M 6 lane competition pool in a new purpose built building.
As part of the feasibility study they received a number of indicative costs ranging from £3.75m to over £4m. Based on these costings they felt they would not gain approval for the Swimming Pool until we got involved. After a number of meetings with the school, and the submission of our designs and price of £1.99m (Building, Pool and Timing equipment), we were awarded the contract. The work started in September 2011 and was completed on time and to budget 42 weeks later in May 2012.
David Humphreys, the Headmaster of the School, said “without the involvement of CPS and the expertise of their management team, we would never have been able to get the competition pool and the building constructed for a price we could afford. The process from start to finish was expertly managed, the school was kept involved at all stages of the process and we have ended up with a competition swimming pool that we can be rightly proud of “.
